‘Salima La Bien Aimée’ (French for ‘The Beloved Salima’) is about a girl who has fled from Syria and has been able to adapt in an exemplary way in Europe. She dresses in the latest fashion, speaks the language and has studied. Yet she is sad about the part of her identity that she had to leave behind in her motherland, about the part of herself that she had to sacrifice for the sake of her safety.
